Pedicab Spotted in Cincinnati After a Red's Baseball Game

I spotted this pedicab after a Red's game the other night in Cincinnati. Its owned by j-rides and they give rides and tours in the downtown Cincinnati area. Flag one down or call for a ride next time you are in-town. They will even carry you across the Purple people bridge if you don't feel like making the walk.

Types of Rickshaws: What powers a rickshaw?

When you think about rickshaws, what type of transportation comes to mind? There are actually 3 types of rickshaws that differ based on the prime mover powering the rickshaw.

A pulled rickshaw is a 2-wheeled passenger cart pulled by a human runner.

A cycle rickshaw, also known as a pedicab, is powered by human peddling a bike with seats on it.

An auto rickshaw, also known as a tuk-tuk, bajaj, motortaxi, or baby taxi is a small automobile.

The Wave of the Future Dude

Electronic Rickshaw devised to re-invent the traditional rickshaw. This battery powered vehicle dubbed "Meguru" has a range of 25 miles and is so eco-friendly that it can be buried in the ground when you are ready to dispose of it.

The only downside, its a little pricey at around $12,000....although if these things catch on, that price will certainly plummet.

Can you see yourself commuting to work in one of these?
